Ghana Venskabsgrupperne i Danmark

Ghana Venskabsgrupperne i Danmark (GV) or Ghana Friendship Groups in Denmark is the first partner to GDCA. The partnership was established since 1980 and was originally based on friendship. However, since 1986 both partners have implemented programmes and projects sponsored by the Danish International Development Assistance (Danida). The first project was Ghanaian Danish Community Programme (GDCP), which went through six phases of project funding until 2008. The School for Life programme was the second in the series, beginning from 1995, and has been through three phases and transition phase until February 2010. The Community Life Improvement Programme (CLIP) was the third project started in 1997 as a sole initiative of GDCA and later roped into the partnership with GV in 1999. CLIP travelled through three phases until February 2010. The CBO Network project was the fourth initiative in the GDCA-GV partnership, which began in 2003 and went through two phases until December 2009. From January 2010 GDCA and GV began the implementation of a programme agreement, replacing all single projects. The new programme is being implemented in cooperation with a second Ghanaian organisation, Youth Empowerment for Life (YEfL). Read more about Ghana Venskabsgrupperne.

European Union Delegation in Ghana

GDCA and EU entered into a cooperation beginning from June 2010 to enhance women’s participation in decision-making under the Support for Women’s Participation in Elections project (SWOPE). SWOPE is a three-year project focused on mobilising support for and capacity building of women aspirants of District Assembly and Unit Committee elections in and Parliamentary elections. GDCA is implementing SWOPE in partnership with a local organisation, Integrated Development Centre (IDC).

GoG/UNDP Micro Small and Medium Enterprises project

GDCA is cooperating with this five-year project, which began from 2007 and has come with capacity building support in the form of staff training and the establishment of a Management Information System (MIS) for the GDCA Micro-credit Scheme. GDCA has also received some grants for on-lending to borrowers.

MiDA-ACPC

GDCA Micro-credit schemes are beneficiaries of the Agricultural Credit Programme (ACP) component of Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) project. GDCA is cooperating with Agricultural Credit Programme Consultants (ACPC) under the project, in which GDCA is benefitting from capacity building and financing for on-lending to borrowers.
